Tailoring the emperor's new clothes

I'm far from the only one to play the New York Times' little budget game and discover that winning it is stupid easy.  Others in my daily reading are Megan McArdle, Arnold Kling, Greg Mankiw, and David Henderson.

I have not come across anyone who failed and collapsed weeping across his keyboard. Have you?
